Each week, you and your family can go on an "adventure" together by watching the video, doing some readings, and answering some questions. There are 12 weeks of courses for each topic area. My youngest daughter watched the videos, while my 6th grader completed some of the readings and worksheets. The readings are amazing. Not only are you combining the history you have watched on the video, but the readings introduce the writings of Virgil, Homer, Plato, and the Bible for the Ancient History course. The readings can be accessed with an on-line reader or through downloadable and printable versions. You can go as in-depth as you want into this curriculum. It is most appropriate for ages 12 and above, but any age can enjoy. High School students, however, can reach source documents, expert papers, and articles and use these to conduct further research. There is no limit.
You can watch the videos and enjoy the course on our computer, tablet, or phone app. We even found a way to watch on our television so the viewing was easiest for the whole family. We connected our computer cable to the television and could enjoy the course in the comfort of our living room. You and your family will love the vast options this program subscription has to offer. Adventures TV is another fun part of the learning program. With this you will get to watch all kinds of extras including "drives" through recent holidays, Biblical sites, and behind the scenes look at the series. I loved the "out-takes" with Dave Stotts. He is a master of combining intellect, practical knowledge, a passion for learning, bold travel, Christian perspective, and humor. His levity mixed with serious topics allows the viewer/user to stay with the program and remain interested through historical plots and details. Adventures TV gives too many bonuses to mention, but The History of Cheese is sure to be one of your favorites. If you don't laugh through this one you may just be missing your funny bone!
