By Lynne Westbrook, Publisher Macaroni Kid Blue Ridge February 24, 2017

Do your littles love dinosaurs??? You are in luck as Dinosaurs Are Coming To Stone Mountain Park on March 30th!

We visited this wonderful addition to the park and were able to watch as dinosaurs came to life in a natural setting! After a 65 to 230 million year hiatus, Stone Mountain Park, Georgia’s most visited attraction, has debuted its latest addition, Dinosaur Explore, set to open March 30 and run throughout the 2017 season.

You can visit the park and it's natural beauty and get an Adventure Pass so that you can access almost all attractions.  The Dinosaur Explore Experience is FREE with your Adventure Pass.  Explore through the forest as you walk up next to life-size dinosaurs.  This is a fun new way to explore and learn as there are 20 dinosaurs and 14 species represented.   As we walked through you can read details about each species and observe them as they blink their eyes, roar, and move their tails, heads, and arms!  One of our favorites- the massive Brachiosaurus!!

Another favorite- the baby dinosaur interaction and T.Rex meet and greet.  Your little hatchlings will love the dino dig play area and all-new indoor experience- the Dinotorium.  Inside the Dinotorium, guests can interact with dino rangers, learn about different dinosaur habitats, visit the Dino Nursery, feed baby dinosaurs and play games. Kids are invited to join in the learning fun by becoming junior dino rangers.

Also making its debut at the park March 30 is the loveable herd from Ice Age in the new “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs™ 4D Experience.” Sid, Manny, Diego and the rest of the crew embark on an action-packed adventure when they discover a lost world of dinosaurs.

Paleolithic Stone Mountain Park
Stone Mountain was created by an upwelling of magma from the Earth’s crust roughly 300 to 250 million years ago. Dinosaurs arrived a little later, between 230 and 65 million years ago. While much of the surrounding region was water, Georgia is known to have been the home of several coastal species of dinosaurs.
