Outdoor Educational Fun - New Fernbank Exhibit!

By Lynne Westbrook October 20, 2016
Growing up near Atlanta I went to Fernbank Science Center and Forrest as a child.  I loved roaming through the heavily forrested woods and listening to birds chirp and squirrels scurry.  For several years the Fernbank Forrest was closed, but now Fernbank Museum has opened Wildwoods and Fernbank Forrest.  This is a great exhibit with highline trails, elevated tree pods, hands-on exhibits and nature experiences.  My girls loved it- lots to do and see and a great playground!  One of their favorites were the bug hotels.  These were exhibits that had hand-crafted "hotels" that gave a residence to bugs with needed jobs in the forrest to live un-disturbed.  Great idea and a unique way to teach appreciation of all of God's little creatures!
